Important Privacy Reminder

Never submit passwords, payment card information, or sensitive medical information through the support form.

Having trouble logging in? The support form is accessible without signing in.

Answers about accounts, course access, assessments, certificates, EMS continuing education credit, and technical support.

Need EMS CE credit? Choose “Yes, I need EMS CE's” and complete the applicable CAPCE information and privacy acknowledgement. Choosing “Learning Only” does not provide CAPCE credit.

Accounts & registration

How do I create an account?

Select Sign up on the login page, enter your name, email address, and password, choose whether you need EMS CE credit, complete any required information, and submit the registration form. Follow any email verification instructions you receive.

Can I sign in with Google, Facebook, or Apple?

No. Use your TheHardWork.org Learning email/password account. Social sign-in is not currently offered.

What if I forgot my password?

Select Forgot password? on the login page and follow the reset instructions sent to your registered email address.

I did not receive my confirmation or password-reset email. What should I do?

Check spam/junk folders, confirm you entered the correct email, and allow a few minutes. If it still does not arrive, contact support and include the email address used for registration.

Can I change my email address or name?

Open your user profile and look for Edit profile. If a field is locked or your legal name needs correction for CE reporting, contact support before completing the course.

Can I share my account with a coworker?

No. Each student must use an individual account so course participation, assessments, certificates, and CE records are attributed correctly.

Why am I asked for my city, state, or professional credentials?

Students requesting EMS CE credit must provide identifying and credential information used for accurate course-completion reporting. Learning Only students are not required to complete CAPCE-specific fields.

Can I switch from Learning Only to CE credit later?

Request a change through support. Approval, any applicable fees, eligibility checks, and completion of missing requirements may be necessary. A change is not automatic or retroactive by default.

Finding and taking courses

Where do I find my courses?

After signing in, open My Learning and select the course in which you are enrolled.

Why can I see a course but not open it?

You may not yet be enrolled or authorized, or a payment/license/access requirement may still be pending. Contact support with the course title and a screenshot of the message.

Can I take courses on my phone or tablet?

The site is designed for modern browsers. For assessments and longer lessons, a current desktop or laptop browser is recommended for reliability.

Can I pause and resume a course?

Yes, return to My Learning and reopen your course. Where supported, video and activity progress is saved. Confirm each activity shows completed before moving on.

Can I skip ahead in a required video?

Required instructional videos may restrict fast-forwarding until they have been viewed as required. Watching a video without satisfying its completion condition may not count.

What if my video freezes or will not play?

Check your connection, refresh the page, disable interfering extensions, and try an updated browser. If the problem persists, contact support with the lesson name and device/browser details.

Why is the next lesson locked?

Some lessons require you to complete the previous video, knowledge check, or other activity. Review the course completion indicators.

Do courses have a deadline?

Deadlines and access periods vary by course or enrollment arrangement. Check your course information or contact support for your specific enrollment.

Can my agency purchase access for multiple employees?

Agency or group access may be available by arrangement. Contact the course provider for current licensing options; do not share one student account among multiple learners.

Knowledge checks, quizzes & completion

What do I need to do to complete a course?

Complete all required instructional videos, knowledge checks, final assessment, post-course evaluation, and any required profile or enrollment steps. The exact requirements are shown in your course.

What is a knowledge check?

A knowledge check is a short learning activity used to confirm understanding. Complete each one where it appears in the course.

What score do I need on the final quiz?

The required passing score is defined in the individual course. Review the instructions on your quiz page; do not assume the same score applies to every course.

Can I retake a quiz?

The permitted number of attempts and any waiting period depend on the course settings. Review the quiz instructions or contact support.

Why does my course still say incomplete?

One or more required items may remain unfinished, such as a video, knowledge check, quiz, evaluation, or required profile information. Check the course activity completion indicators.

Is the post-course evaluation required?

Yes, when the course lists the evaluation as a completion requirement. Submit it before expecting the course to be marked complete.

Does simply opening or watching a course earn credit?

No. Credit requires meeting all course requirements and any applicable CE eligibility, authorization, and reporting conditions.

EMS continuing education & CAPCE

What is CAPCE?

CAPCE is the Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education. CAPCE-accredited activities may be eligible for EMS continuing education credit, subject to applicable rules and acceptance by the student’s credentialing or licensing authority.

Does every course provide CAPCE credit?

Not necessarily. Confirm that the specific course is offered for CAPCE credit and review its listed credit hours, category, and eligibility information.

What is the difference between EMS CE Credit and Learning Only?

EMS CE Credit is the pathway for eligible students seeking documented continuing education credit and requires additional information and reporting steps. Learning Only allows course participation without CAPCE credit reporting.

What CAPCE information must I provide?

When requesting credit, you may be asked for your legal name, email, residence city/state/postal code, whether you hold a state/provincial EMS credential or National Registry certification, the relevant credential level, issuing jurisdiction, credential number and expiration date, and other applicable identifying fields.

Do I need a state EMS license and National Registry certification?

Not necessarily. Answer each credential question accurately. The form requests additional details based on the credentials you actually hold; do not claim a credential you do not possess.

What if I hold only National Registry certification?

Select the National Registry pathway and provide the requested National Registry details. The system may use the NR designation for its reporting-related issuing-state field where applicable.

What if I hold both a state credential and National Registry certification?

Indicate both and supply the required information for each, including the actual issuing state/province for your state credential.

What if I do not hold an EMS credential?

Answer the credential questions accurately. Contact support before purchasing or relying on CAPCE credit if you are unsure whether your intended licensing or certifying authority will accept the course.

What is a NEMSIS ID (NEMSID)?

It is a National EMS Information System identifier. If you have one, enter it as requested; do not substitute your state license number or NREMT number.

Why are expiration dates required?

Expiration dates help establish the credential information associated with your CE record. Enter the correct dates yourself and keep your profile current.

Why do I need to accept the CAPCE Privacy Statement?

Students requesting CAPCE credit must acknowledge the disclosure about submission of completion records to the CAPCE AMS and potential access by authorized credentialing or regulatory entities.

Can I receive CE credit without completing the CAPCE fields or privacy acknowledgement?

No. Required CE information and acknowledgement must be completed before the system can process the applicable credit pathway.

When is my completion reported to CAPCE?

Reporting follows the provider’s approved reporting process and applicable CAPCE requirements. A course completion or certificate does not by itself prove that the CAPCE AMS has accepted a submission. Contact support for the status of your specific record.

Will my CE credit automatically appear in my state license or NREMT account?

Do not assume automatic posting or acceptance by every outside agency. Processing and recognition can vary. Keep your completion certificate and confirm requirements with your licensing or certifying authority.

What if I entered the wrong license number or other CAPCE information?

Contact support promptly with the course title and a description of the correction. Do not send passwords or unnecessary sensitive documents by ordinary email.

Can I get credit for a course I took as Learning Only?

A later conversion may be reviewed case by case. It requires meeting the applicable CE requirements and authorization; credit is not guaranteed simply because the learning activities were completed.

What if my credential expires during the course?

Update your profile and contact support if your credential status changes. Eligibility and acceptance depend on applicable program and credentialing rules.

How many CE hours and which category will I receive?

Refer to the individual course description and certificate for its approved hours and credit category. Different courses may award different credit types.

Who decides whether a course meets my renewal requirements?

Your state EMS office, National Registry, employer, or other relevant credentialing authority determines whether the education satisfies its particular renewal requirements.

Certificates & records

Where can I find my certificate?

After satisfying the course completion requirements, open My Certificates or the certificate activity in your course.

Why is my certificate not available?

Check that every required activity and evaluation is complete and that your enrollment and CE information are valid. If everything appears complete, contact support.

Can I download or print my certificate?

Where a certificate is available, open it and use the offered download or print options. Save a personal copy for your records.

My certificate has the wrong name. How do I correct it?

Contact support with the correct legal name and course title. Corrections to issued certificates or previously reported CE records may require additional review.

Is a completion certificate the same as CAPCE reporting confirmation?

No. A certificate documents course completion; CAPCE reporting and external acceptance are separate processes.

How long should I keep my certificate?

Retain a copy for the period required by your state, credentialing body, employer, or other applicable policy. Keeping a personal backup is recommended.

Payments, access & agency enrollments

How do I pay for a course?

Follow the purchase or enrollment instructions presented for the specific course. Available payment methods may vary by course and enrollment arrangement.

I paid but cannot access my course. What should I do?

Check that you are signed into the correct account. Contact support with the course title, approximate purchase date, and transaction reference if available. Do not send full card numbers.

Are refunds available?

Refund eligibility depends on the terms presented at purchase or in the applicable agency agreement. Contact the provider for review.

Can my employer enroll me?

Agency-sponsored enrollment may be available. Use your own student account and follow the enrollment instructions provided by your agency.

Do I need to pay extra for CAPCE credit?

Any applicable difference between Learning Only and CE Credit should be disclosed during the enrollment or conversion process. Contact support for your specific course before assuming a price.

Technical support, privacy & accessibility

How do I contact support?

Use the support/contact method published by TheHardWork.org or provided in your enrollment instructions. Include your registered email, course title, what happened, and a screenshot when possible.

What information should I include in a support request?

Include the course and activity name, device and browser, date/time of the issue, exact error message, and steps you already tried. Never include your password or complete payment-card details.

Which browsers work best?

Use an up-to-date version of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge with cookies and JavaScript enabled.

What if I am repeatedly logged out?

Confirm cookies are enabled, avoid private browsing restrictions that block the session, and check whether multiple tabs or devices are interfering. Sign in again and contact support if the problem continues.

Can I use a shared or public computer?

You can access the site from a compatible browser, but protect your credentials, sign out after use, and avoid saving passwords on shared devices.

What if I need an accessibility accommodation?

Contact the provider using the published support channel and describe the barrier or accommodation needed. Do not include sensitive medical details unless necessary.

How is my information used?

Account details support access and course records. Information required for EMS CE credit supports eligibility and CAPCE reporting. Review the site privacy information and CAPCE acknowledgement for further details.

Can support complete my quiz or required video for me?

No. Students must personally complete required learning activities and assessments. Support can help resolve technical barriers.

What should I do if I notice an error in course content?

Report the course title, lesson location, and the suspected error through the provider’s support channel so it can be reviewed.

Important: Course-specific instructions, published policies, and requirements of the relevant licensing or certifying authority take precedence over this general FAQ. For reporting corrections or disputed credit, contact the course provider.
